Hiking & Sightseeing in Rangeley Maine...

A living nature show is found in the Rangeley Lakes region from loons and ducks on Rangeley Lake in front of your cabin to moose, deer and bear near your back door. (We can't guarantee wildlife sightings every day, but both moose and deer wander through our open meadow quite frequently, especially early in the morning.) Beaver, fox, raccoons, coyotes and bobcat are occasional visitors as well. Bald eagles are often seen soaring over the camps, loons call from the lake, and sometimes coyotes will call from the mountain behind the camps. For those so inclined, there is birdwatching (most of the birds of the northern forest inhabit our area) in the nearby fields and woods, as well as watching ducks and loons float past the shorefront, or there is always a chance for photographers to 'snap' a great picture of moose, deer and other wildlife nearby, or one can just relax on the screened-in porch with a good book (Rangeley Village has a public library as well as a well-stocked book store.)

We offer woodland paths to explore on our property. The following list of local mountains and trails also provide an excellent hiking experience: Appalachian Trail, West Kennebago Mountain, Bald Mountain (an easy climb), Aziscoos Mountain, Saddleback Mountain, and Bemis Mountain. Maps of the area's trails are available for sale at the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce on Main Street in Rangeley, or for further information, visit RangeleyVacations.com for a comprehensive list of trails (including photos) and scenic attractions in the area.

By the end of September, fall foliage is near its peak...A great time to be in the Rangeley Region, to rest, relax and absorb the beauty of the passing season!
